OK first of all a few of the comment I have received haven't helped at all just an opinion I didn't ask for. I have 1 girl which is my oldest and then 4 boys and we just found out I am having another which is exactly what my hubby and I wanted. We don't get help from the state for any type of financial or medical help, my hubby is a K-9 deputy and I also work at home. We do everything on our own and all of our kids are very healthy and happy. I was just wondering how common it was to have 5 boys in a row was all. Thanks for the people that did have smart comments instead of smart-*** ones.

It's the fathers genes that determine sex.

Are the four boys all from the same father?
Does the father have sisters, or brothers?
Do the fathers brothers have boys or girls?
Go back a generation or two on the fathers side and ask same questions.

If the answers are overwhelmingly "boys" ... the chances of having another boy are pretty strong.

Why would you want 5kids? Why is it sooo important to have a baby girl? What if your 5th kid is a boy, then what? Go for pregnancy #6? Be happy that you have 4 healthy boys. Raise them well and in 20-30 years, maybe they will bless you with granddaughters. That way you could dress them, spoil them and then return them to their parents. No labor and delivery necessary.

Interesting question - I guess it depends on the factors of the situation - My husband's mother had 5 boys and no girls however all of her children except the last 2 had different fathers - could be a factor or not. It truly is up to God he knows what each of us are able to handle.

I am one of three boys, I know a family that had four girls and no boys, one that is eight girls and no boys. Probably not too common, but it still is a 50/50 chance each time around

i think having 5 kids isn't common at all anymore regardless of gender they are too expensive. i had in laws that wanted a boy took them 8 girls to get one and he's in jail now anyway, they would have been better off without him!

It's probability, the previous births do not affect the last one. Your chance is 50%

if you're sonia then it's common alright!! I would stop after the second child, I don't have enough of me to go around for 5 kids!
