I think that two years from now, the Charlotte Bobcats are going to be the favorite to win the NBA championship. They have Kareem Rush, Adam Morrison, Raymond Felton, Sean May, and Emeka Okafor as their starting five. They could do ok this year, but these guys are too raw. As long as they keep all five of them, and they have time to develop, they could dominate. Ok, im from CA, and I'm a Lakers fan, so this isn't just fan mail. These are all early first round picks, and will all develope into potential all-stars. Except possibly Rush, who will be good, but not great. What do you think?

Sean May and Emeka Okafor still need to come into their own. Felton showed flashes last year, but has not lived up to they hype. Rush was a disappointment on the Lakers and had a not so good attitude. Morrison looks like he's a sure thing, the kid plays with heart and for the love of the game. But then again it's a Jordan pick (just like Kwame).

2 years from now, it will be the Suns. Amare will be fully rehabilitated, Nash under contract, Diaw develops into an all-star, and Marion signs an extension.

Lakers will push them for the conference championships though.

Go Lakers.

You don't know whether or not these young players will develop into stars. Many early round draft picks have ended up as busts. It's really difficult to know whether a player will develop into a star or a bust this early in his career. Even if they do develop into great players, it will take longer than two years for them to develop into a championship contender.

Young teams usually don't win a playoff series against a more experienced team that has been there before. It may take multiple failures in the playoffs before they ever do break through and make a run for the championship. This has been the case with many teams, including Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

Give me a break- what a homer. There is no Santa Claus there is no Easter bunny and there is no Charlotte Bobcats playoff ambitions in 2 years. First look back in recent history- you need a SUPERSTAR. Not just a couple of really good players, you need a top 5 player of the year quality player. Now while your starting five is a great college all star team there is no player yet to exceed minor all star potential. No role players, average coach, average (maybe) general manager/player personel equals 46 wins in 2 years. Sorry Dorothy your still in Kansas (or Charlotte in this case)

They may get to the playoffs in a couple of years, but likely not with this starting five. They will have to bring in a vet or two at some point to help develop the core, and at some point they will have to swap assets with someone to do so.

I think the old Charlotte team....the Hornets...will get there before the Bobcats will. Byron Scott is going to be loaded this year.

I dont know about a championship but I like the way they are progressing... probably will make the playoffs within the next 2 years. also note that geralld wallace is a defensive monster and will probably start over rush and prezec will probably start over may. also, even with a starting line up of felton-wallace-morisson-okafor-brezec (which is solid) they have no legitemate sixth man and they all must stay healthy... overall I like the direction that they are heading.

Well, I don't know about all that, but they should definitely be a force to contend with. I'm happy to see it - I was a huge Charlotte Hornets fan, but now it's just not the same seeing them in New Orleans. I'm glad Charlotte stepped up and built themselves a competitive team! If they play as well together as they all do individually, they could very well be a dominant team.

I appreciate that you have hope as a fan, but that is one tall order. I think Charlotte will improve, but the East has some great young stars. Charlotte has hope, but they will also have a tough go.
