We had a rabid raccoon come up on our porch one time...he came in the daylight, was walking funny, and was foaming at the mouth. Ugly sight.

Yes. I have seen several rabid animals. Their actions depend on the type of rabies. If they have normal rabies they are very violent, frothy at the mouth, etc. If they have 'dumb rabies' their limbs don't work well. Their back end drags. They still drool and froth at the mouth. I have been bitten by a rabid animal and had to undergo treatments as well....THAT is a pain in the butt. The shots really don't hurt, sting a little is all, but you have to get them in a graduated series.

Years ago we had 3 small dogs. One night when they were outside they were barking like crazy and when I opened the door to let them in I saw them running around and around a skunk. I called to the dogs to come in and the skunk came up on the steps. As the dogs ran past him he bit my white poodle Fred in the leg.
My husband was trying to get him away from the house so he was throwing things at him. The skunk chased whatever he threw. Like it was going to bite anything that moved. When the skunk was far enough from the house my husband shot it. He cut off it's head, (don't shoot it in the head) and then we had to send it to a lab to get checked.
The skunk was rabid and we had to put Fred to sleep. Very sad!!
He was walking almost like he was drunk, stumbling and wobbling. I know they don't like water either when they are rabid.

I guess it depends on the animal. Usually, if a noctural animal (racoon, fox, bat, etc) is out in the open in the daytime, call animal control. Raccoons are the biggest spreaders of rabies. I saw a raccoon out in the middle of the day in the road. It attacked my car and was stumbling around. I don't know about other animals.

I haven't seen one, but my friend's mom did. It was a rabid raccoon walking around in the daylight like it was drunk. I don't think it was foaming at the mouth, but it may have been...

Well i use to have HUMANE animal traps and i accidentally caught a possum. This thing was messed up.It was foaming at the mouth and making weird noises. It knocked the trap over by jumping at the walls to it was scary. My sisters dog also went after a possum. Not sure if it was infected or not, but Shiloh killed it and was safe.I was mad cuz she killed it but i was glad she was safe.
