ok i have a wireless router in a room that is very far away from the room i have my laptop in and it can not get the wireless connection. i can't move the router from the room so i was thinking if i buy a new router and put it in the room with the laptop if the laptop will get the same connection as the router in the other room is giving. will i have to pay for a new connection or will i just have to buy a router and put it in the room with the laptop. also if anyone knows of a good quality router and can tell me the name and model number and the price that would be nice. thanks.

ok also i need to get a second router so my only question is if i can get the same connection with the new router in the room with the laptop as i do with the one in the far-away room. i need to connect the router to my xbox 360 anyway and i do not want to buy this attachment my friend told me about for it to recieve wireless connections, as he said it cost about $100 or more.

the router is about 60-70 feet away from the room with the laptop so i can not put a cable from the far away room to the laptop room.

well this would get rather complex since u would need to get a bridge box to connect the routers together which would be rather annoying since the signal would get a lot worse..
best idea is get a wifi repeater aka Radio access point
this will increase the range eg boost the signal power from the router.
rather than buying another router config a gateway/bridge etc..

You may be more interested in a wireless bridge or repeater. They take the wireless signal and repeat it so it can go a longer distance. I would put that in a place were both the laptop and router get a good signal from it (about halfway in between the router and laptop).

Or you could run a cable from the router to a new router or access point in the room with the laptop. That way you could move around and still have a connection.

If you have a linksys router then all you need is a signal booster and better antennas. Go to www.linksys.com and check it out.
