I took my 20 month old son to the Salute 2 America Parade in downtown Atlanta. My family all took the MARTA transit back downtown later that night to see fireworks, but they were cancelled due to rain. We called it a late night at Applebee's.

We dressed up and went out for dinner... We live in Oahu, Hawaii... so.. we caught the fireworks at Schofield Barracks Army Post... then we saw the Pearl Harbor fireworks as we drove to Hickam Airforce Base for their fireworks show... then, on our way to the Marine Corps base in Kaneohe for their late show, we caught the fireworks off Honolulu... It was great cause we drove in a convertible. It was the first time my son had seen fireworks and the look and smile on his face was so beautiful and captured the exact reason that I am proud that my husband is a soldier and also why I decided to become an American citizen. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mexico, but I also love America just as much!!! On our way home we turned on the radio, which was playing patriotic songs all night long!!! To top it off, we stayed up til midnight to watch the "Star Spangled Banner" play on TV before the channels go off air. It was the best night we had together as a family... since my husband is redeploying to Iraq in a few weeks... we won't get to do this for another 2 years... My son loves him and always recognizes him cause he's always in uniform. When we go on post, he calls every soldier "Da-Da" cause they all wear the same uniform... he gets confused. It's so cute... I hope when he growsup he can be proud of his Dad and be as patriotic as we are so that he can pass his love of freedom to our and his grandchildren...

First, we decorated the tree, then we ate turkey, then we all opened our presents. Ha ha. Truly, we went to the park and watched fireworks and listened to The Rumbles play, then came home and BBQ'd at midnight, went to bed and slept until 11:40 this morning, I had to work at noon, but I work at home on the computer. God Bless America.

Some friends and I climbed up nearby foothills in Arizona and watch fireworks from all the surrounding towns/cities/communities. It was nice. I've been doing it these past few 4ths.

Let's see. I went and watched the city's fireworks display down by the river. Then I started drinking with my neighbors, and we shot off firecrackers. Then my brother and I started shooting them off after midnight, and the cops got called, but they couldn't prove it was us. Same thing I do every year, terrorize the other neighbors.

Cleaned leaves out of the pool, did laundry, went shopping and out to eat with my husband, cleaned leaves out of the pool again after a rainstorm, went out to eat again, and finally, went to the fireworks show in Shepherdsville. Whew, it was a busy day!

I set off fireworks illegally, in memory of how our founding fathers broke the law to gain our independence.

Oh, and I'm sure they blew stuff up, too.
