I don't dream that often but when I do my dreams are really vivid. How do I make myself dream more often and have more controll over the dream?

It is best to sleep for about 5 hours, get up for 15-20 mins, then go back to bed. I've had several lucid dreams this way. Several sites will say the same thing. I've read most everything that dreamviews.com, lucidity.com, wiki, brain.web...

However, the best one I came across is ld4all.com It doesn't have as sophisticated of a look but it covers it better in my opinion.

I know much of what's on some lucid dreaming site sounds impossible, but you should try different methods with an open mind. I'm having a hard time believing in astral projection or out of body experience, yet I've successfully had a lucid dream with the MILD and WILD methods. =)

Reality checks are a great help. Make yourself look back at a clock to see if the time changes or just ask yourself if what you see is a dream more than once. It's too easy to dismiss the first time.

I should add that most of my lucid dreams were before I started a dream journal and I still don't have the greatest dream recall- two three a week tops.

start with relaxing your mind before you go to sleep. Get off the computer at least one hour prior to laying down. No television either. Maybe a magazine or a book that won't make your mind keep spinning. Once you have relaxed your mind so you aren't thinking about the days events or tomorrows plans, you will be on your way to lucid dreaming.

I've heard you have to drink lot's of water for the first few time so that you have to pee while you're sleeping. For some reason this introduces your body to the same feeling in your dream and you gain control. But you have to think all day about what you want to dream about. Try to make it revolve around going to the bathroom at first. Don't actually pee in your dream, cause you might pee for real!

part of everyones problem is that they don't realize that they are dreaming. Once you can realize that in your dreams then you are set to go. To help with that say "I will remember that i'm dreaming this time" about 50 times. keep a notebook and write down your dreams. when you do repetative things in life make sure you pay attention to what you are doing and don't "zone-out". Most importantly, believe that you will dream. Good Luck!

Hmmm....well, I don't know. It has only happened to me a couple of times that I knew I was dreaming and could control the dream I was in. But I think I was running a high fever both times.
It IS cool when it happens (the dream;not the fever).

there are day-dreams and also dreams that occur when you have what they call REM (rapid eye movement)
Day-dreams you can control most of the time to a certain extent as you are still awake...but once u go into REM, you cant really control as you are oredi in a sub-conscious state of mind... so if u want to control, u should day dream more.. keke... my 2 cents worth
