hi angie,

let me offer a little advice, be very wary of modelling agencies and schools. i dated a few models, and one was pretty successful and made good money, but you're going to end up dealing with a lot of bull from a lot of ppl, and they pretty much run every facet of your life. they tell you what your hair is going to look like, what clothes you can wear, what you can eat, where to be and at what time, and how many things are wrong with you. and thats not just when you're on the clock, its ALWAYS. my ex wasnt allowed to wear certain brands of clothes EVER, not just at work. and she even had to only drink certain bottled water. it was the most retarded thing ever. also, if you walk into any modelling school, theres gonna be girls that are gorgeous, and those that are NOT. anyone with sense in their head could tell immediately which girls wont make it, but the school doesnt care, and is just there to take their money. the girl that i dated that made money at it just couldnt stand it after a few years of it, and at that point she had a ton of issues with herself (which was really stupid, she was absolutely flawless and had all these imaginary problems), and she had totally lost all concept of having her own opinions, she had been told what to think for so long.

so be very very careful, and dont let anyone make you believe anything other than what you already know. its a shame that so many nice girls get their heads messed up by the fashion industry.

I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. My advise to you is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK.

However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.

Examples of work can be provided on request. Just message me here if you want, I am a professional website designer but have lots of free time (and enough money) so I am currently doing free sites for small bands, small artist etc, basically anyone who could not afford them otherwise. I have my own hosting server so can offer hosting servers or you can host the site yourselves. No images sent to me will be used for anything other than your site and I will not give anyone your detail or link to the site. You will have complete control and the site can be removed or changed at any time. This is not a scam and I will design a site for FREE, I do not need the money, and enjoy working. If you do want it message me you can tell me what you want and how you want it done and I will help.

Just make sure you know what you're getting into, and have your parent's and any other responsible adult be involved in anything to do with the business. You could easily be taken advantage of or worse by unreputable people who are looking for girls like you to prey upon.

Have professional photos taken, headshots and full body shots and start sending them into modelling agencies with well known names and better than average reputations. If you are model material, the modelling agencies will snatch you right up!

Never ever fall for the guy at the mall with a card and a 'I can make you famous' line ~ a lot of them are child predators.

Good luck and be careful!!

I think you should not give up education just for the sake of modelling. However if (modelling) is still your passion, you should be prepared for rejection because the industry is one of the most competitive & the toughest as well.
Work on compiling a good portfolio with quality pictures & a good photographer. Then with confidence, go meet up with some of your local modelling agencies for representation.
Be well informed of the industry beforehand. Read all/ any documents before placing your signature.
Best of luck!

u have to research to see if they are any agencies nearby... sure u kno of atleast one right?
then higher a photographer to start putting together ur portfolio...
after u have that then its all about dedication.
u have to go to 'go-see' and any casting calls... but to be on top of these it would be easier if u had an agent. they are the ones who link u with the casting calls and the go-sees
