I for one think it is rediculous to think that humans are the only intelligent beings in this universe. That of all the more than billions of planets out there that only earth produced intelligent beings.
I think there are beings out there that are much more advanced than us humans. I think the reason that they haven't discovered us yet is beacause we haven't done anything that would draw them to us.
I think we are just too small and insegnifcant for them to notice us.

There are probably many intelligent species in the universe. But then again, how do you really define "intelligent" ? It can't simply be the same thing as "successful," or our insects would be intelligent as a species.

And how about this? Let's say humans have existed for about a million years. Then only species within a million light years of us could have any chance of knowing we exist.

And why would they care about us until we were intelligent? How long have we been intelligent? Let's say we've been relatively intelligent for 10,000 years. Then only the species within 10,000 light years from us would be able to notice.

Also, it would take time for them to send a message back to us as well.

I think there are many other intelligent beings in the universe since it is so big. I also think that there should be more inteligent beings than humans but we did do many things to get noticed and we are not very small for them to find us. We have sent many sattelites out flying looking for an extraterrestrial and sent out many radio signals. If an extraterrestrial were to look at our solar system looking for artificial radio signals we would be like a shining lightbulb in the middle of a dark room.

Before us, they say there was a civilization known as "Atlantis". They originated in a planet, which is now known as the "asteroid belt", the asteroids being the pieces of the planet they destroyed due to warfare. They came to earth, but then the race was divided in two, one race went to live on in mars. The separate races were always in constant war, they say the craters in the moon were due to warfare as well, until they built a weapon with all the power of the universe...which wiped them out.
Atlantis was known as the most advanced civilization ever known. They also say they caused the "Bermuda Triangle" to come to existence, due to experiments with "space-time and dimensions"...They also say that some escaped the "weapons destruction", and escaped into our time, which supposebly explains the so-they-say UFO sightings...Aside from this civilization, was the "Rama" civilization which relied on india..If we are not alone, then it would be better not to bother, they will come when they're ready.

um..the question presumes that we are intelligent beings ourselves? LOL

i'm sure when it happens, the government will try to control and hide it so we don't slide into an economic break-down and rioting in the streets.

also, with all of the neat specials on discovery channel and other cable channels over the last few years, it almost feels like we're being groomed for the eventual outing of aliens. why don't they just come out of the closet? lol

first of all...do you really think humans are intelligent? ha! think again! of course there are intelligent beings out there, the universe is never ending, there are MANY of them out there. their intelligence lies in the fact that they are too smart to waste their time here.we are a hopeless civilization.we were rejects left by one of them. look at our world and where its heading.parents killing children, children killing parents, everyone killing anyone, for any or no reason, everyone killing the planet! if you were one of those civilizations would you come here?yes they are out there and we are so very fortunate that they haven't exterminated us!
