i think zakk wylde has one of the greatest attitudes towards music. he is a great guitar player and makes great music. every album is an album and he doesnt care if it changes the world or not. there really is no "Earthchanging band" right now. i think the closest would be shadows fall even though they're only played on Headbangers ball. but they are a true metal band

In order to gain and keep my respect (not always the easiest thing) a band must:
1) Respect the fans. They are the ones giving us the gas money to go home.
2) Respect themselves. If you have hair to your backside, are tattooed everywhere, have 6 piercings in your nose, and wear leather jackets with a Carcass patch on the back... do not try to convince me that you are in a band that plays Green Day or Blink 182.
3) Takes the music seriously. If the song is good enough for you to play, it is good enough for you to practice and play well.
4) Takes themselves UN-seriously. Laugh at yourself... the fans do.
5) Respects those around them. You might be better than them, they might be better than you; however, music is a brotherhood, not a competition.
6) Respects the legacy. You were taught by someone, and someone influenced you to play that instrument, and get on that stage. Regardless of who it is, or what their age is, if someone asks your advice involving a musical matter, or the instrument you play, take them seriously, and give them the best, most honest answer you have in you. To you, it is a BS question.. to them, it is everything.
You follow this code, and we'll get along just fine... even if you do play Green Day or Blink 182. (lol)
