It depends on what kind of needle you used. It takes a long time for a belly button to heal. It needs to have a stud in it at all times. If the metal ones bother you, go to claire's or sally's beauty supply and get a plastic one.

Good Luck.

p.s. I hope you used a hollow barrel needle... those are the best.

When it is pierced correctly it is done with a hollow needle that removes a small piece of flesh and then the belly ring is inserted. The hollow needle piercing makes room for the belly ring. Just putting a needle through your skin does not do this and the body's natural reaction is to heal.

Your needle probably isn't thick enough. Also, it may be infected. You shouldn't be taking your piercing in and our anyway. I had mine in for a year before I changed my jewelry, it needs a chance to heal. Most importantly, you really shouldn't do it your self. Have it done by a professional.

once you pierce your belly button put in a belly ring and don't take it out for at least nine months. continuously clean it w/ anti-bacterial soap. if you want to change your belly ring it's ok, but make sure you keep one in there. good luck.

Because you keep doing it wrong. Stop it. If you are old enough, or your parents agree, go get it done right, and follow the care directions that are given to you. You can get a bad infection from improperly cleaned instruments and just bad placement doing it yourself.
