In today's world the youth have more opportunities, capabilities, good education, physical and cultural standards, backed by computers-technology,coupled with an avalanche of diversified knowledge ,independence, fearlessness, decline in conservatism, yet they lack compassion towards fellow human-beings, are arrogant and selfish. They seem to have skin-deep feeling for their fellow-beings unlike those of yesteryears.Todays youth are egoistic, have only lip sympathy as against genuine sympathy of the youth of yesteryears.Money, power, status, superiority have assumed high proportions in today's youth. They commit a lot of evil acts to acquire any of the above. They are more intelligent and smarter than those of yesteryears

There are always exceptions to the rule AS whatever is mentioned applies to most of the youth of today in general and not to all concerned. With this plethora of intelligence, smartness, physical strength etc why cant they be
more tolerant, more giving,compassionate.

The answer can be summed up in one simple phrase:

Bad Parenting.

Parents are too content to allow the Television teach their children everything worth knowing. If the surrounding environment of hollywood movies, angry TV characters, and bad internet writing are to be the shapers of the children, then we will end up with heavily disillusioned youths unable to appreciate what they have...

Parents need to be involved in the early years. By the age of 5, significant mental development has already occured. At the age of 10, children are looking outwards to find out where they fit in.

Parents need to do their jobs, teach their children right from wrong, get off of welfare and drugs, and if they don't want to preach religion, they should at least pay attention to some decent christian ideals.

Treat others the way you want to be treated, turn the other cheek, show mercy, love thy neighbor... Religious or not, (I'll admit that I'm not), those are a good foundation for a decent, functioning human being.

Letting your kids get raised by Grand Theft Auto is a recipe for disaster.

For the record, I like Grand Theft Auto, and I enjoy it... because it's full of stuff that I would never do, or see, in real life.

Because they have never had to work for anything. Everything has been handed to them on a silver platter and they have no respect for the hard work it takes to earn things. Of course this is not true of all youth, but it seems to be the prevailing attitude these days!!
