I would like to add a shipping calculator to my website (like Ebay has) and dont know where to start. The shipping will be for heavy items-furniture. Any help?

If you want to integrate the calculator to the shopping cart, you might need to contact the person who provide your shopping cart because it might require custom programming. Some shopping cart software allows you to customize the shipping fee.

If you only need to provide the calculator for reference, you can probably contact your shipping company to check with them if they have an online calculator that you can provide to your client. I know UPS, FedEx, and USPS have online calculator available on their website.

It would be somewhat complicated to explain , but basically you must have a portal on your website to the carriers so that the customer can access and enter their info. Then their must be an embedded program that will add in any other fees that you might want to add; such as handling.
