i watched the movie and would love to find someone like baby jane (during her earlier years of course) like shirley temple.

No one in the movie "Baby Jane" is based on a real character.
However, some of the behind the scenes stuff about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford is somewhat interesting. They pretty much HATED each other. Both thought they should have gotten the OTHER actress' role in the movie. Crawford disliked being made the psycho in the movie, although she was so good at it, she played nutty women almost the rest of her career.
Davis has alwats been a class act and didnt want to fight with Crawford but they had a fuedal kind of conflict in Hollywood from this point on. Pretty much why they never worked together again after "Baby Jane".
The movie was popular enough to spawn at least one rip-off movie, "Wh Slew Auntie Roo?"

bette davis played the role of baby jane. the movie is a classic drama. it is not based on anyones life. i love that movie and have seen it many times. joan crawford played baby janes sister. i will never forget the rat and bird on her plate. great movie.
