You need to act fast whatever you do. You'll be in Chicago during the Gay Games, and Wrigley Field (cubs park) is adjacent to the "boystown" neighborhood of Chicago. Athletes and fants from all over the world will be in Chicago for the games, and I would guess most of the hotels in Wrigleyville and Lakeview (there aren't that many hotels in that area anyway) are already solidly booked.

Try this place. It's a hostel. It's cheap, easy to get to, clean and you get to meet people from all over the world. And it's about one block from Columbia College.

Most of the places near Wrigley Field, and there are only a few, are NOT cheap. The hostel is right near public transportation. One el train ride and you're at Wrigley Field. It's a straight shot there and back from the hostel.
