Take the keys from him. He's drunk. Friends don't let thieves drive drunk.
ps: Sheez, most of y'all are bullies to beat up on a drunk. He probably just mistakedly thought it was his car and might not have been trying to steal it. Shame on you for wanting to beat a poor defenseless drunk!

i would tell him that he parked behind me and point at another car, hopefully he would be confused and go away and my family and i would have a happy fourth of july, except we live in canada so it would be just like any other day

Depends. I'd probably take the insurance money. Especially if you're driving an SUV and you're upside down on it, the best thing you could hope is that it does get stolen. I'd call the police, or throw a rock at him.

does the date matters? no matter on what date this drunk guy tried to steal your car, its still stealing, and i reckon he's not drunk. so call the police.

if your with your family and he steals your car he is endangering your and your famlies lives i would take aim ,and snap kick him right in his testicles!! drunk or not,that should get his attension and when he screams in pain,kick in straight in the balls again(even if his hands are cupping his balls,itll still get thrue) 2 swift kicks to the nuts should give him somthing other than your car to think about then as he lies on the ground moaning and crying, get in your car and drive off...ps. dont forget to use your seatbealts! safety first!

if he had a weapon, just about nothing, if not the fight him for it, no problem fighting dirty either use a heavy object or hit 'em in the nuts. Actually me personally nothing, he wouldn't be able to start the car, the starters all messed up, hehe.

If the guy is drunk enough, start asking him questions. Make him confused. If it doesn't work, just drive away.
