Dave Dombrowski:

President & GM of The Tigers.

He cam along on 2001, fired Randy Smith (GM) in 2002. Took over those duties and since then has made some great trades and has stocked our farm system.

Of all the great moves he has made, the hiring of Leyland is probably the best yet.

Remember Dombrowski was GM of The Flordia Marlins in 1997. He built that team. Leyland was the manager.

I hope history repeats it selff.

Dombrowski has taken The Tigers from the depth of futility and has raised the bar on how to build a contending Championship type team.

Its all about pitching. There starters lead the league in wins, and era. Tigers total era is almost 1/2 run better than the next closest. Also timley hitting thru out the line-up, less errors, and the manager is not costing them games by over using his arms in the bullpen. Trammell was not ready to coach. Leyland is in charge of the team. They need a big left handed bat, but otherwise they are here to stay. There starting pitchers are young except for Rogers.

I'm not a Tigers fan. But they are winning and that is what really matters right now. The all star break will tell the story. It is many teams down fall. If they can produce a winning record after the break they should do fine.

Player acquisitions are the first reason, but the finishing touch was bringing Jim Leyland in at the last minute. He is a great manager. Maybe you don't remember, but when the season first began, the Tigers struggled. Leyland stated publicly that he wasn't going to accept mediocrity. I think that has made the biggest difference for that team. By the way, INSULTED1 is an idiot!!

I think the credit should go to Jim Leyland. His winning ways have transformed a Tigers team that has struggled for years into legitimate contenders. And what is even more amazing, is that they are doing it in the powerful American League.

well I'm still bitter about how things were handle last season in the front office part. The games I went to the some of the players didn't care last year, but this year it seems like they are trying to keep their jobs. most of the players are close to done with their carers in baseball. The Tigers will fall again after the break., either due to injury or lack of respect of the game. I wonder if any of the players are using HGH, AFTER LAST OF COUPLE YEARS I WONDER......

They're playing very well this year, and it's possible that Jim Leyland found a way to tap into their talents and bring them out. Mainly, though, I think they're leading the AL in pitching.

Because they finally got a manager who got them to get their head out of their ***, and start playing winning baseball! Their pitching is the best in the league, and their overall defense as a team is in the top five

easy, a new stadium, for one, and for two, they have sucked for so many years that they got high draft picks and picked good players, who are now members of the team, along with ivan rodriguez
