Beauticontrol's "Extra Help Concealer" $5.50 and Duo Blemish Concealer $10???. Apply the Duo medicine to acne blemish first, then the concealer. Use the Extra Help Concealer on scars, dark circles or red blotches. I apply a little wherever I need to even out skin tones and then blend so there isn't a line. Then I use the Wet/Dry Foundation $21 because it stays on my face better and it's quick and easy to apply. The concealer is very good. Though my concealer lasts about a month (I wear make-up everyday) the make-up lasts for several months.
The "All Clear" acne line of skin care is the best. I've tried everything and this is the one line of products that really works. It's awesome. The longer I use it the better my skin gets.
You can get this stuff on-line just enter Beauticontrol.net and it will direct you to a consultant. This stuff is better than department store make-up and coming up in August and September they will be running a great deal for joining as a consultant. Then you could sell to your friends and family and with the profits by your own makeup.

A good concealer or covering makeup generally costs a little more than the basic makeup. However, you can get a good coverage with Max Factor products. Some makeups will actually have different color tints. They all basically come in the different shades for skin complexions (pale for light skinned to mocha for dark skinned). However, some will contain a green base. Green as a base sounds strange to most, but will actually help camouflage the red areas. But don't think by piling a bunch of green goop on your face that the red will be gone. Red blotches may be an early sign of a condition known as Rosacea. You may want to see a dermatologist to have the blotches looked at to see if that may be the case. If however you know that the skin is just a little red from sun exposure, then you may want to stray away from cosmetics until the sunburn has had time to heal. Putting makeup on a sunburned face would prevent the skin from being to breath. The skin needs air to heal quicker. Hope this helps you in your quest for the makeup. I would say all in all that Max Factor has pretty good cover-up products that won't necessarily break your wallet and can be found at most retail stores (such as Walmart) or drug stores (like Walgreens or CVS).

Head to Walmart or a local pharmacy look for Physician's formula Makeup. As far as concealer.... Yellow covers undereye circles, green covers red, and neutral neutralizes. It's the best I've found and it cheap and stays put from day to night. Good Luck.

Generally, what works best for me and lasts the longest is a lightweight liquid concealer (like CoverGirl Continuous Wear Makeup: with your finger, dot on a thin layer on imperfections only, allow a minute or two to dry) followed by a foundation and powder in one (like CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Pocket Powder: pat on a layer over concealer and then a layer over the rest of the face, blending it all for a smooth complexion). Both of these you can get at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. but they work as well or better than the more expensive brands i've tried. Make sure to pick shades closest to your skin color-when in doubt, shoot for a shade thats a bit lighter than your skin color-you can always even out the color to match your skin tone with a bit of blush later. The thing I like the most about the two CG products I mentioned is that they are consistant-they cover blemishes, red areas, etc, they don't get all cakey, (although if you have oily skin or get sweaty, you may have to reapply the powder at the end of the day-so bring the powder with you) or turn orangey (I have very fair skin with a pink undertone, and some makeup looks orange on me-if you have darker skin or a more olive colored undertone, the CG products I mentioned will work for you as well) Lastly, in my opinion, the key to makeup starts with a clean canvas. Take care of your face. It is crucial that you wash your face before applying makeup and before going to bed (with a face wash made for your type of skin) and use some kind of face lotion to replace the moisture lost by washing (this will also vary depending on your type of skin) Makeup, dirt, oil, and environmental factors will clog your pours and cause breakouts-but only if you let all of that to sit on your face for more than a day. A big part of taking care of your face and bringing out your best is gettting to know your skin and adapting your beauty products to it. A lot of it, unfortunately, is trial and error with different products. Hopefully what i've said and the advice of others will be a good starting point for you-but to find out what works best for you, you may have to try a few different things. A lot of companies give away free samples, you may want to take advantage of that so you don't spend money right off the bat for something that may not work for you-it's how I found out what worked for me! Try CoverGirl.com or Maybelline.com, or Google a particular brand you're interested in and browse their website for free samples before you go out and buy something. Best of luck to you, and with a little persistence, I know you'll find something you're truly happy with. Take care!

Try Bare Minerals!
Clinque is all just chemicals, and it just tore my skin up! As does most of the high end department store make-up counter stuff.
