OK i glad you asked cause i was looking for a question like this one. in my opinion it was the greatest movie ever made, but some people didn't like it for various reasons like Brandon Routh, smallvile viewers thought tom welling was a better fit for the role and i can not lie i was one of those viewers until i seen the movie yes the effects were great there was but little romance SO i don't really understand when people say there was too much romance but as for the comment that said it didn't take the character any where WRONG not only did the movie take superman to a new place UH HELLO did anyone else see the movie superman has a SON!!! WOW! i did not see this coming i don't think anyone saw this coming so you don't have to idolize superman and read ever comic book but you must not be a dumb *** and not know nothing about superman and comment on questions like these but at least know the basics where he's from who his real dad is, why he went to earth, what kryptonite does to him and things of that sort but if you are one who knows nothing i encourage you to watch smallville or even possibly buy seasons 1-5 for basic knowledge

To be honest, I am not a big fan of superman. And I spent the first twenty minutes of the movie asking "Where is Bruce Wayne?". then it hit me. Bruce Wayne is Batman.
The movie was a little too digitally animated for me. I also dislike it how in most movies that are based off of comic books, it takes half the movie to get to the plot.
Aside from all that, I thought it had a very interesting story, but I wish the little boy had said more.

It sucked Kryponite. Very very boring and sooooooooo long and what very bad acting. These guys werent' even close to being believeable. I think this should be the end of all Superman movies. I mean, a pair of glasses is what seperates Clark Kent from Superman? Give me a break. They were way too young. Don't waste your cash. It's great for kids but not for adults.

The one from 1978 was great. Christopher Reeve is fantastic in the role, he was really born to be Superman. I love it. Superman 2 was good as well, but could have been much better if Richard Donner had finished the film rather than Richard Lester. Well, I'll just have to wait for the dvd edition to come out in November to see Donner's Superman 2.

I really enjoyed it. The special effects were absolutely incredible, and the story, while not spectacular, certainly lived up to, if not surpassed, some of the previous Superman movies with Christover Reeve. And the actor playing Superman/Clark Kent, Brandon Routh, did a fine job. I would recommend seeing it, absolutely.

Brandon Routh played a great Superman and reminded me a lot of Christopher Reeves

Kevin Spacey played a better Lex Luthor than Gene Hackman.

Kate Bosworth was not a very good Lois Lane I thought Margot Kidder played her better.

all in all I thought the movie was very good. I thought Kevin played Lex much more ruthless like he is in the comic books.

I've never seen any movie of Superman, except for old cartoons. I liked this movie.

i thought it was great. I had little faith in Brandon Routh, but he was an excellent choice. Kate Bosworth is too young to be playing Lois Lane though. I was actually a little aroused after seeing the movie, cuz hes such a hottie, lol.

Well, it din't live up to the expectations.
I was expecting some mighty battle or something.
From what i saw,it just looked like a continuation of the previous movies.

But still, it was worth the time but not the wait.
