there is nothing similar to the quality and style of gameplay of Mario games. those games are one of a kind, and on Nintendo only. if he wants similar games he should try the Jak & Daxter games, Ratchet & Clank and Crash Bandicoot.

Since he already bought his PS2 he might be pretty reluctant on trading it in for a Gamecube, but you yourself said he loves Mario games. You are only going to find those games on Nintendo systems. Games similar to Mario on PS2 are all mainly cheap imitations. I wish this wasn't so, but its the truth. I've played through every single PS2 game that has come into the store and none have equaled Nintendo quality. At least for platformers like Mario. Now, if your brother loves shooters, then the PS2 is definitely the system for him, but the way you make it sound, he might be a little to young, and or doesn't want that type of game. My bet is he wants a simple and very fun game.The Gamecube now is only $100 and even cheaper used. He can by a great Mario game for it for only $20. Super Mario Sunshine would be a perfect game for him. The store where I work, (like most game stores) will gladly take trade ins or you could sell and buy used. I know you asked for a game similar to mario for PS2, but there really isn't anything. Make the trade-in and I'm sure he'll be happy when he can play Mario.

Theres No Mario Games For PS2. Your Brother Should of Saved His Pennies For PS3. Its Coming Out In November And Its Going To Be $600.

Nope i like marios too but there is none for PS2.And wat's soo good about a PS3 wats the difference?!!!He should buy games like Simpsons road rage instead. It's funny and fun. I love his dedication. Hope he likes Simpsons .Not Sims though.

nope cant do it. mario games are strictly licenced to nintendo and only nintendo. but if you do get a game cube he can get mabe 1000 diffrent mario games and never leave the front of the tv
