I Love and Use the Mary Kay Med Coverage foundation. It works like a full coverage without the heavy feel. I use it every day along with the cleanser and moisturizer. It lasts a really long time and def worth the couple extra bucks. It is also 100% guaranteed for your satisfaction.
If you visit my website, I will give you a 13$ discount for any 1 product. It may help you out.

Really unless you have totally uneven skin tones you don't need foundation. Less is more!
What I suggest (been a Mary Kay Consultant and had a makeover at the Fashion Fair, CD, Chanel and Origins counter) and use myself:
- 2 concealers (one slightly darker & one slighty lighter than my skin tone) plus,
- yellow tinted concealer (for dark circles)
- green tinted concealer (for for redness)
- bronzer (summer)/blush (winter)
- sheer loose powder
If you are just trying to cover up acne or blesmishes use concealer...but I really suggest getting to the root of the problem finding the correct skin care regimen for you!
If you MUST have foundation, I suggest you trying out a couple high end products by having a makeover...I like Lancome, but it's pricy...I heard some like Eeste Lauder, Sephora, Clinique or MAX.
If you want to try a couple different foundations (your skin is different and will absorb differently than someone elses....try a couple over some time to get used to a product) test it yourself!
If you rather test out from the drugstore instead; I like Revlon or MaxFactor, Cover Girl has been around for years, Almay is hypoallergenic and Loreal is like a sub-brand of Lancome and I think I used Physican's Formula???
The trick with foundation application is you want a sheer look. You want to make sure you don't have a pancake face so do your best to match your skin. (Mary Kay is good at doing that!)When applying the foundation dot on each cheek bone, fore head and chin and use a damp makeup sponge to blend, once you wash, tone, moisturize your face apply your concealers then foundation you don't need a lot...then use your fingers to smooth out the makeup evenly.
HTH.
Email me if you have more questions!
Take care.

A lot of people forget to put on moisturizer before applying powder, and what ends up happening is that chalky look on your face which makes you look completely unnatural. I use the Hydraction set from Christian Dior--it really keeps my face soft and smooth, and I used to never be able to wear powder because my skin's too dry but ever since I started using Dior it's been working out really well :)
Next I use what's called the UV Protector from Shu Uemura. It's a basic foundation, but the plus of it is that it works like a sunblock for your face. So you're hitting two birds with one stone because it's a very good concealer as well. There's also just a tad bit of shimmer in it, so that after you put it on, your whole face just brightens up and you look very energetic, even if you just rolled out of bed five minutes ago. The trick is to match your skin color well, but I'm sure that goes for any type of foundation.
The Touche Eclat Radiant Touch from Yves Saint Laurent would be the next step. It's a pen brush, and you push the other end of the brush and the foundation comes out. You'd use this to cover the contours of your face, such as underneath your eyes to get rid of bags or dark circles. Also it works as a wonderful base for eyeshadow later on (if you decide to put that on) so you can apply it on your eyelid too. Then around the corners of your nose, and the corners of your mouth. After you apply it with the brush you can take your fingers and rub it in. It allows for much more precision and you can pretty much use it anywhere on your face that you feel you need extra coverage.
At last to finish off the process, any type of loose powder or press powder will do. I suggest the press powder from Yves Saint Laurent because it feels very light on your face but it does a heckuva good job of covering up blemishes. Even though it seems like there's a lot of stuff you just put on your face, it doesn't feel heavy at all but you can definitely tell that you got the coverage you wanted.
Hope this helps! This just comes from me playing around with a whole bunch of makeup products and ending up picking the ones that offer the best foundation/coverage. :)

Clinique- super powder. It comes in a compact- goes on like powder but covers better. Feels light and natural. Go to Macy's or Lord and Taylor's to the Clinique counter and try it!

i like a matt finish, although dewy is apparently in, it can go really oily shiny. Try Loreal infalliable - it dries like power and is perfect for imperctions. I have pretty clear skin, but get redness and you can tell when im tired, but Infalliable reduces all signs of fatigue. Im in natural beige!

Avon - Beyond Color, Mousse Line Softening Foundation. It's awesome! It honestly feels like silk and you can't even feel it on your face. You should at least try it.

i love christian dior....might be a little expensive but a tiny amount goes a long way. they have heaps of different types to match your skin condition. I've converted all my friends and they have never looked back. my problem is matching the right colour and gotta admit dior has it right. i use dior matt...it's light, natural looking, covers any pigmentation and makes your skin glow.
