I wanted to research this answer a little better but this damned air card is to slow. The symbols would be a start, the olive branch, the eagle (Phoenix), the symbol for justice (the scales), Hail to the chief (Cesar) .........OK that ones a reach.

The structure of government is very similar until a Cesar was "appointed" kind of like what would happen here in a time of war (martial law).

I wonder ...... while the roman empire was expanding did they invade other countries under the guise spreading democracy??

Did Cesar circumvent the senate (congress) many times under the "what is best for Rome" mantra prior to the senate being dissolved?

The people were so well entertained and spoiled they rarely protested what the government did they just waved their roman flag in ignorant bliss............HAIL CESAR!!!!

There are a number of parallels. But just because things are similar, it dosn't mean that the end results will be the same.
