My husband stays up late everynight playing Everquest or Star Wars or God forbid, asking stupid Yahoo questions. How can I get him to bed the same time I do?

I know that there will be many people who will think this is primarily a sexual question. I don't see it that way. I used to have this same situation with my ex-husband, and the basis for it had nothing to do with sexual relations, per se.

In our case, the underlying problem was that he simply no longer wanted to be around me, and was using computer games, etc., as a dodge.

I'm hoping this isn't the case with you. And, if it isn't, you need to find out what the real reason is. I can assure you, it's not that the games, etc., are that absorbing...at least, not for a grown-up man.

Does he keep the same schedule you do? He may not be tired at bedtime. Does he need significantly less sleep? Perhaps he can be persuaded to play the computer games in the morning, and come to bed with you at night. Is he hopelessly immature? Don't laugh, there are a lot of guys who are stuck in the S.F. Convention mode at unbecoming ages, and maybe he needs more real-life contact with other guys.

I sure wish you good luck.

I have been on this same topic with my husband for 4 years now. He always stays up to play his guitar, watch TV, or play video games. It wasn't until we moved to Kansas and out of Las Vegas until he started coming to bed with me. Not every night, but almost. I tried every thing the last 4 years, I just got used to sleeping by my self. Now I have a hard time sleeping, because I LOVE to hog the bed now.... Hope things work out!

Sounds like you need to lay down some rules. How long have you been married?

You really should start training your man as soon as possible so he comes when you ask or next thing you know you'll find him typing with one hand, his boxers around his ankles to a girl in Russia called Rozalina.

Or worse than that you'll catch him playing Elder Scrolls 4. ;)

Ask, Dmeand. You wield more power than you think you do, and you don't even have to be explicit. Just an "I want you to come to bed with me." Is enough to get him upstairs. Intimate isn't even sexual. I love sex like most guys do, but I also want to talk. I jst have to be coaxed into it. That's why I'm on Anwers! Encourage an open diallouge and he won't be here with me. Of course, if he cotines to be a dog, you can click my blue bar and get revenge.

Is there anything in it for him to go to bed at the same time?

Usually, my wife will just want to go to sleep. If I'm not tired, why should I bother going at the same time? Computer sounds like it'd be more fun, in that case.

Communication before he gets on the computer. Ask him to come on, if not, seduce him. Hard to get a computer addict to bed though.
