How about mowing lawns?

I had a few 12 year olds come by my house witha very nicely done flyer (with help from their aunt) saying they were willing to do odd jobs for extra money.

You can try that.

Tell neighbors and friends your 12 years old and trying to earn some money for ???????, and ask them if there is anything you can help them with to earn some money. Such as picking up dog doo, washing a car, mowing the lawn, raking some leafs, taking out the trash, watering plants, or help fold laundry.
Note: always be honest, and hard working. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, make sure your parents know (ahead of time) which house you'll be at and what you're doing there. GOOD LUCK.

If you are creative you could make those hemp and bead friendship bracelets, anklets and necklaces that a lot of kids like to wear and sell them to family, friends, or along with the lemon aid someone else suggested. If you are good in a particular subject, reading, math or something else, perhaps you have a friend or neighbor with a younger child who is having trouble in that subject, their parent may be willing to pay you to tutor them a couple hours a week. Get a group of friends together and form a yard cleaning crew and split the money, would be more fun and less work in a group and safer also.

I made over $250 one summer when I was 10 mowing lawns for $5 each, that was a looooong time ago! I agree with that person that said to print up some flyers saying all the chores you're willing to do and hand them out around the neighborhood. Make sure your Mom knows where you are always!!!

Contact a mom with kids in your area, be a mothers helper. Play with the kids while the mom is home, she can get household chores done while you entertain the kids. I used a mothers helper a lot when my kids were young. Offer to clip coupons from their magazines and papers. Help with yardwork, offer to walk their dogs and clean dog poop-pooper scoopers make a lot of money on a 2x a week basis!

since your 12 you probably can't get at super market. Why don't you do errands for your neighbors that can pay you. Good luck
