From a pure statistical standpoint, does anyone know what percentage of the time a girl says, "Yes" when marriage is proposed? Any ideas?

Just to add a bit, I'm not planning on asking my girl until I get out of grad school in a year or so. I figure it would be best to start off a marriage when I'm financially stable and can actually afford a super nice wedding. All my friends are getting married waaaaaay to young. I think the "yes" percentage should be 100% since the marriage proposal shouldn't come as too big a shocker. I think before I ask her, I'll tell her that I'm probably going to propose to her so she better give me an answer when I ask. Then I can tease her about it for a few weeks and court her all over again.

I dont know of any statistics, but my guess would be 80%. The way I figure is a guy probably wouldnt ask if he thought the girl was going to say no and most men ask after dating for awhile, so Id say the majority of women say yes. Of course some men are wrong, so Im guessing that 80% of women say yes. Now whether or not they actually go through with the wedding...that's a different story!!! lol ;)

A guy is not going to ask unless he has already received the implication that the answer is going to be yes. A lot of times I'd even think that marriage isn't his idea to begin with. I'd say over 95%.

It all depends how close she's getting to her eggs running out, then it would be entrapment! with ulterior motive so no basis for a successful marriage. As they say you can screw mother nature but she always gets even because paying your debts has nothing to do with money or atttachment to it! And you'd be suprised how many divorced dis-illusioned virgins that were attached to their Walt Disney fairy story coming true are out there! Take a look at the over 25 dating /sites and ads if you want evidence!

Hi Rattwagon:

What a different question, and why are you asking? Something is bothering you???

It's okay to say 'no' really, until you are ready, or not. You are free to say what you want.....

I'd say 50/50 ...

luv Ava

probably pretty good cause most guys wouldn't wear their hearts out on their sleeves unless they knew the situation very well and were confident with the answer.

she usually says yes. But if shes hiding something from you then she will probably be a little hesitant on it.
