My first child was c-section, and i felt like I bled for a long time after- although I also had a long labor and we tried vacuum extraction before the cesarean. However, it sounds like you are experienceing exceptionally heavy bleeding. I would call your doctor's office, or your local after hours or emergency care facility- whatever you have most access to. I wish you all the best- my C-section baby is now over 9 years old, and everything is back to normal (including a second birth almost 3 years later- VBAC).

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!

I just got my first period since having my baby girl via C-section ONE YEAR AGO (!), and it was also very heavy. (It lasted almost a month, and was a real gusher.) I went to see my OB/GYN. They told me that if I was soaking through a pad in an hour or less, I should go to the ER.

You don't sound like you're quite that bad off, but you're not too far away, either.

I'd definitely at least call in tomorrow.

I had c-sections with both of my kids. I would say that having a lot of cramping is probably normal. Your uterus was just cut open 8 weeks ago. Bleeding that heavy should always be checked out, though. Might be normal, might not. I breastfed and so I didn't have a period until almost a year after my kids were born.

you are just gonna have to do what you have to do. even though i have neva had a baby before cuz i'm only 15...you might have to ask tha doctor about it. but don't sit there and worry yourself becuz then your mind will go cra-z!!! try taking ADVIL because thats what i take for my bad cramps. and when you get the pads from the drug store, get the ALWAYS MAXI not the ULTRA THIN or get the TAMPAX HEAVY version. and if that doesn't work then just get checked out by the doctor. or maybe it is making up for the days that it didn't come. don't worry everything's gonna be alrite!!!

that's not normal you need to contact your local ER right now

please do not wait if you are soaking a pad and a tampon in less than two hours you are bleeding excessively and may be hemorrhaging please be safe and head to the ER no matter how many people tell you they bled heavy after a child

After I had my kids, my first period was really heavy and i had bad cramps. I wouldn't advise you using tampons though, you should wait awhile to use them. If you are concerned, just call your doctor and ask about it.

It could be normal, depending on how your labor and periods were. At any rate, if it draws concern to you, it wouldn't hurt to consult a physician just to be on the safe side. Anything is possible.
