I wanted to get some crushed stone and they wanted 16.00 per ton to deliver..

it depends on the material like they other question on here who knows what kinda material that was for but at 16dollars a ton isn't enough it is like 288 dollars for 15 tons and that is the minimum so it isn't just a price per ton the a millage price to so lets sat you have a 40 mile radius around the quarry the price could be 16 a ton plus 50 dollars for delivery it just depends on how far you are going and what you are hauling like you should charge more for rip rap then you would charge for 3/4 crusher run plus you are competing for loads with the other driver at the quarry so you need to be competitive . my email is rjm_333@yahoo.com if you send me the price of fuel average lenght of haul and materials you will haul and what is the legal load you can carry on 3 axles and if it is a rural or urban area i can help you more and the price perton of gravel and most quarries will give you a percenage of the revenue of the load so if you need any more help just email me and i will do what i can and good luck
