I had a miscarriage the day after I got married. It was June tenth when I lost the baby and I was only 5 weeks along. The doctor says I am fine to start trying again but alot of people keep saying to wait till after I have a normal cycle. I just wanted to know if anyone got pregnant after a miscarriage before a normal cycle and carried there baby full term???

It seems that the big concern with trying to get pregnant again right away after a loss has more to do with the emotional trauma than with what your body is or isn't ready for.

The exception to this would be if you had to have a D&C to remove the pregnancy. If you did, the lining of your uterus would most likely be too thin to support a new pregancy if one should happen the cycle after the D&C. However, my close friend got pregnant 2 weeks after a D&C and carried the baby to term.

I'm sorry for your loss.

My best friend got pregnant about six weeks after a miscarriage and her son is a wonderful healthy 11 month old. I think she wanted to wait a few weeks to let her body recover and to make sure that she had time to grieve for what she had lost.

If your dr has given you the go ahead, then I would in general trust his/her opinion over that of my friends and family. And actualy it is very common to get pregnant right after a miscariage. In fact many experts reccomend it. some say it can help you deal with the loss of the firs pregnancy.

I think it really is a call you'll have to make yourself. If you feel that you are emotionally ready, then try again. If not, then wait.

I have no idea the answer to your question but I just wanted to say I am sorry that you had that happen as I imagine the sadness really overshadowed the joyous occasion. I hope that you can find someone to talk to about it too. Best of luck in your effort to conceive.
