By proving to her that you are mature enough to take care of one. How? Take on more responsibility without being asked. Do the chores you have without her having to nag you. Speak to her in a mature fashion without whining.
Explain, rationally, the reasons why you would like to have one. Do some research on ferrets and know in advance what they are like as pets, so that you both know what to expect and what is required for its care.
Propose to her that the two of you create a contract, which you will sign, listing your responsibilities for the care of the animal.
In short, be mature and she might be willing to listen to you.
If she still does not agree, show her that you are still mature and do not whine or cry or get upset, so that she might reconsider in the future.

Ferrets like any pet take a lot of work, patience and time involved. Plus the cost factor, the vet bills, food every week, litter, etc, can get expensive if a family is on a budget.
Plus even though ferrets are de-skunked for their smell they still have a very strong musty smell to them.
And on top of that...being a mom...I am sure she looks at a ferret as nothing but a long rat.
Good luck with it.....your best bet is just to wait till you move out on your own, then you can have any pet you want.
Maybe get a saved stray cat from the pound for now, that way you have a pet similar to a ferret and its a pet Mom could handle around the house. Just a thought.
Save a stray....never buy pet store!!

Ferrets make great pets, but they can be costly, and do tend to be kinda messy. You may want to start with a smaller cage pet, like a couple of rats - which also make awesome pets. They aren't as expensive to keep, or get, and they are easy to care for. If you do that, and you take good care of them, you might have a better shot at getting a ferret. By the way, you should really have at least 2 ferrets, as they are really lonely if alone.

If you were my kid (my kids ask all the time), I'd need to be convinced that you'd take care of it 100%. What would do it? If you put forth the effort to develop a cleaning, feeding, watering and other care schedule on paper that you would follow. Putting forth that effort would show me you were possibly willing to put forth the effort to really do the job.
I would then have them do something 3 times a day for a week that they don't normally do -- like take out the trash or clean the kitchen after each meal (themselves). If they proved themselves trustworthy then, I'd feel they were motivated enough to care for the pet.
I'd also have them print out some basic ferret info, and I'd quiz them on it, to see how well they have researched the pet.
Are you willing to do this amount of work? Caring for a pet is serious (but fun!) business.

Show her that you are responsible. Maybe do some extra chores, or something. Make her belive that if she got you one that you would be able to care for it. Because they need alot of care, just like any other kind of pet. Good luck I hope you get one!!! I had one when I was in high school they are very cool. I had a house fire a few years ago and she died. :(( but I got another one I now have two. Lady, and Mishap.

you might think so but they are nice pets but expensive and stinky you have to bathe them twice a day and get his stink glands removed but if you still want him/her then try convincing her he would be useful they eat bugs you know and if that doesn`t work fall to the floor begging

Well get her to go to the store with you and then get one out of the cage and try to get her to hold it. Then tell her that you will take care of it and she would not have to worry. it should work it worked with me.
