Hi there. I'm the author of a new medieval fantasy book that you might like. The title is THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY. It's 445 pages of action, adventure, magic, mystery and mayhem. If you like Conan, LOTR or Harry Potter type books, this may be one you'll enjoy, especially since one of the main characters is a sassy young Irish lass who puts all the men in their place.

Good luck, whatever you decide to read!

Jon F. Baxley (Author, Editor, Ghostwriter and Proofreader)

THE SCYTHIAN STONE (eBook only)
THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY (eBook and hard cover)
THE REGENTS OF RHUM (coming fall '07)

Major Media Reviews:

Publishers Weekly

STARRED Review. A fast pace, sly humor, amusing dialogue and a richly researched background lift Baxley's fantasy, the first of a new series set in medieval Britain. When Merlin's long-ago apprentice Kruzurk Makshare (aka the Boozer) receives a dreamlike visitation from the legendary mage, he learns he must destroy another former apprentice, the villainous Seed of Cerberus. To do so will require a visit to the demon-guarded Blackgloom Keep. Enter young Daynin McKinnon, who discovers a curious rune-covered headstone, which may be the fabled Blackgloom Bounty, and brings it to Kruz's attention. Kruz believes it will provide entry into the fortress, while Daynin hopes the sale of the stone will restore his family's fortunes. The colorful cast of good guys and ne'er-do-wells includes the Pictish ghost of Brude McAlpin liberated from his tomb, assorted pursuing Caledonians and a bemused Prior Bede, whose monastery serves as a hiding place for the Blackgloom Bounty. Suitable for fantasy enthusiasts of all ages.

I would recommend A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. It is an unusual novel based in India at first and then England. It is very interesting and quite entertaining. Rebel Angels, the sequel, has been released as well but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

I also enjoy anything by Sarah Dessen including: Keeping the Moon, Dreamland, That Summer, Someone Like You, and The Truth About Forever. Her books are easy to read, but they are definitely not boring.

Another great young adult girl book is A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly. This was an amazing story that I couldn't put down. It is set in 1906, and it intertwines mystery, adventure, and family difficulty to make it a great book!

For mysteries I enjoy Mary Higgins Clark (though some of hers become predictable at times). My two favorites of hers are You Belong to Me and A Cry in the Night. I like many of John Grisham's books too, but many people think they are too wordy. The Testament if my favorite book of his so far. Good luck!

Sarah Dessen is great. She's written several YA books, my favorite happens to be The Truth About Forever, but her latest book is Just Listen.

Sonya Sones is great too. She writes verse novels. My favorite of her books is What Your Mother Doesn't Know.

Louise Rennison is great for a laugh--her Georgia Nicolson series starts with Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging.

A Walk To Remember and The Notebook are two books by Nicholas Sparks that are tearjerkers, but if you like to cry...then you'll love them!

Going for The Record by Julie Swanson is another great tearjerker. A young girl (teen) finds out her father's dying of cancer and only has a few months to live.

Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta is another good book I'd recommend. She has a way of creating realistic characters.

Looking for Alaska by John Green was one of the best books I'd read in 2005. It's about a teenage boy who goes to a private boarding school in Alabama. It's about *meaning of life* stuff. :)

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is a real treat. Even though some of the characters are vampires, she has a way of making it feel real.

Uglies, Pretties, and Specials is a trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. They are very good.

Go to Amazon.com and search:
"Lost from Atlantis Book 1" - Book 2 is going to be out in the next 6 weeks or so, Book 3 is written and in editing and will be out sometime in the next few months.
"Death by MURDER David Lindsay" - you have to search that way or it won't come up. There's lots of sex in that one.
"Super Spaghetti"
And the best part is, for now, they're all FREE. You can read them with Kindle Unlimited - if you don't have Kindle Unlimited Google how to get a free trial, and all those books are free. They can be read online, with a free Kindle phone app, or on a Kindle.

Lovely Bones is excellent.
Based on what you said you enjoy reading, this has a little of everything. It has a slightly different twist on the whole mystery genre.

When I was a teenager, I started reading Mary Higgins Clark's mysteries.
I also liked Christopher Pike and RL Stine and Ellen Emerson White.

You sound a lot like my little sister. I gave her the first book in the Fearless series by Francine Pascal and she liked them so much she keeps buying them. It is a very long series, so if it interests you it will keep you occupied for a long time. I haven't read them but she has told me they are very fun to read, and she has great taste in books. Whatever you pick to read, I am just so glad you are reading! It is the best way to expand your mind and fill your soul. I hope you get a lot of good suggestions.

Why don't you expand your horizons and check out The Judgment Seat of Christ? It's a short book that you can read on line from the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/

The book has among other things two visions that people had about being in Heaven. One of them was General William Booth who founded the Salvation Army after receiving this revelation from God.

It sounds like you might like the "Making Out" series by Katherine Applegate. It's about a group of teens that live in Maine. It's a pretty good series. I read a bunch of them when I was a teen.
