Peanuts ended its run in 2000 & a month later, Charles Shultz died. He said before he died that there were no plans to continue Charlie Brown & the rest of the Peanuts Gang after he was gone & he wasn't going to turn it over to someone to continue drawing Charlie Brown & Comapny. It's sad &, yes, I miss them, too.

Charles Schultz passed away on the morning that his final Peanuts comic strip saw print. United Features Syndicate is continuing it in reruns.
But Shultz stated in his will that the strip was not to be continued without him, so his estate and UFS are honoring his wishes, hence no new ones.

I am pretty sure that the creator died. I think he has a son who wants to continue his legacy.
