Catwoman was at various times played by Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt in the live-action Batman television series of the 1960s, her first other-media portrayal. Lee Meriwether portrayed her in the 1966 "Batman" motion picture, based on the television series, when Newmar was unavailable. An uncredited fourth woman played Catwoman as part of a villain team-up in "The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra," the next to last episode of the series.

Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt played Catwoman on the '60s TV show with Adam West, then Lee Meriwether played Catwoman in the TV movie version.

Depends on if you are talking about the Batman movie in 1966 or the TV series. In the movie, Catwoman was played by Lee Meriwether. In the series, the Catwoman was played by Julie Newmar, and Eartha Kitt. The first one to portay Catwoman in the TV series was Julie Newmar. First episode with Catwoman was #19, "The Purrr-fect Crime". Kitt played Catwoman in episode #108 "Catwoman's Dressed to Kill".

The original Catwoman was former Miss USA Lee Meriwether.
The Catwoman chacter first appeared in the 1966 movie(same year series started) Batman. Catwoman was so popular that she was included as a regular villian afterwards.

in the 1960's TV series starring Adam west Julie newmar was the first catwoman and when she left the series Eartha kitt replaced her! In the 1980's movies staring Micheal Keaton as batman catwoman was played by Michelle phiffer.
