Some people just need to hate theYankees because Steinbrenner pays well.
GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course they will go for #27 this year just like they go for it every year.
The injuries won't make it easy, but then it never is.Red Sox won't be there so no worries.Cubs don't stand a chance either,so
GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you serious? hell friggin NO!!!!
how can you think that with the team playing the way it is? the pitching staff is a joke after Mussina's numbers. Johnson is getting ready to get hit with a muffler next time he takes the mound in the bronx and there is no offense after jeter and hgh boy giambi. a-rod is having his worst year in his career and they are using AAA players as everyday players because of injuries,
Can they be dangerous? very much so but Detroit isn't going to go on a big losing streak with the pitching they have and the yankees will need to win the AL East to make the play offs this year, there will not be a wild card out ofthat division.
the other nights birthday gift to george in the form of a 19 to 1 loss wasn't that they lost or gave up 19 runs. It was that the yankees didn't score more than one run and the one run they scored was on a double play ball.
number 27? please, not this year. how about asking if the yankees will win number 27 before george retires or gives the reigns over to his son? or ask if the yankees will win number 27 while A-rod is playing? why do teams seem to get horrible when A-rod goes to them after a season or two and get so much better once he exits? now that is a good number 27 question. "will the yankees win a world series with A-rod on the team"?

The Yankees are a joke. They will not win #27 this year and might not win again for 10-15 years. Karma has caught up to them and now they will pay for it. However, they will not be able to buy their way out of this one.

Dude, that is SO funny!

Wake up and smell real life.

The yankees are losers....it is time all yankee fans realize that.

The only "27" the yankees will get is 27 years in a row WITHOUT going to the playoffs.....they are SO due for that.

Whatever the Yankees get they paid for. And sorry the answer is NO. There is allot of better teams out there with much smaller payrolls.

well i'm seriously doubting it. im a yankee fan. johnny damon just got injured today and if he goes on the dl all hope is gone. unless matsui and the sheff come back and play really well, and the pitching has to step up especially randy johnson..... im not even sure if they're gonna make the playoffs i hope they do

Of course they are going for it. Kansas City is going for the World Series also. They just have a much, much, much smaller chance to win it.

They are gonna have a hard time due to injuries. They also traded away most of their young talent so it will be hard for them to trade for some pitching which theyll need.
