I'm on a generic form of Ortho-Tricyclen (Trisprentic). On June 21st, I took my pill almost 10 hours late. On the 24th, I took my pill about two hours late. And this past Sunday I accidently took one of my placebo pills instead of my active pill. I didn't realize this mistake until 24 hours later, when I took my next pill.

My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex several times in the past two weeks. My period is due next Tuesday, July 11th. I don't know if there's a huge possiblity that I'm pregnant, and I was just wondering what some of you think about it. I've been a little fatigue, my breasts have been a more tender than usual, and I've noticed that I feel thirsty/dehydrated more often.

I'd appreciate mature reponses. :-) Thank you.

First, this is the wrong place to find your answer. Even if you called a medical doctor over the phone with your question, they'd tell you that there is no way to answer it without a test. So, visit your local pharmacy and pick up an over the counter pregnancy test. Follow the instructions and if you are pregnant, seek medical care as soon as possible.
Now, if you get lucky, and aren't pregnant, use this anxiety as a reminder the next time you have sex. Trust me, pregnancy is one of the nicer things that can happen when you have unprotected sex. Sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise and things like HIV, herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea can effect you now and the rest of your life.

while it is possible, it is highly unlikely. it is best to take the pill at the same time every day. however, if it is taken within 12 hours then it is ok (the day you took it 10 hours late is fine) but don't make a habit of it. if you miss a pill, you are meant to take 2 pills the next day. i have done this a number of times and have never got pregnant. i think if you have been on the pill for quite a while then you shouldn't have a problem.

what hotmama said was ok, but not qutie accurate. the after morning pill is not the equivalent of 3 pills, it is the equivalent of a whole packet (i know because i've had to take it before).

and also, i think that it is too soon to be having pregnancy symptoms. you are probably stressed, and it can also be a sign that your period is on the way. i feel tired and tender a week before mine comes.

try not to stress out too much. if you miss your period while on the placebo pills, then you can start to panic! keep your fluids up and try not to think about it too much. good luck sweetie :)

Your breast tenderness can be caused from your birth control, but I dont know about the fatigue and thirstiness. I missed 2 whole days of my birthcontrol when I got pregnant,if your young then your more fertile and it could definately happen.I was just looking at the dates you took it,and it's way too early to be able to tell, you wouldnt even feel side effects yet in fact.If you were preggy than it would have happened even earlier than June. If you miss a day of your birth control then take 2 the next day.Dont even take it if you realize late in the day that you've forgotten, take 2 the next day,and you should be fine. It's kind of like that morning after pill, all that pill is,is 1 birthcontrol pill equivelent to about 3 of your regular b.c pills. Just wait until next tuesday, give it a couple days, but remember you can still get your period if your preggy.

I am not sure how much of a difference it make to take your pills at exactly the same time everyday. I am sure one missed pill may make a difference if you had sex within a day or two of taking the wrong pill. Keep in mind no birth control pill is 100 percent. I have heard stories of women getting pregnant on almost every kind of birth control (IE. pill, IUD, foam)
Yes fatigue and sore breast can be signs of pregnancy. Although as we get older at times our cycles can change and with it we can get the fatigue and sore breasts also.

you possibly could be pregnant, due to the fact that you are not regular with taking your pills. it is very necessary that you take birth control pills the EXACT same time every day, otherwise you are giving your body the chance to ovulate.
as far as the symptoms you are feeling goes, they are also signs of an upcoming period. the only true sign that you might possibly be pregnant is if you actually miss your period. even then you might not be pregnant.
i would suggest stop taking your pills(just in case) for now, but do not have sex. take a pregnancy test the day you are supposed to have your period, or even better, go to a clinic or hospital for a test.
good luck.

Well I'm not a doctor or pharmacist so I really couldn't say if the mix up could cause you to become pregnant. I wouldn't get too worried yet. I had a pregnancy scare once and I think the worrying just made the situation worse. I would call your gynecologist if you're really that worried. Also, I suggest not saying anything to your boyfriend until you know for sure. As I found out, nothing freaks out a guy more than hearing he may or may not be a father.

I have been on generic birth control for 5 years. lots of times I forget a day or skip pills then double up. I think you are safe if you have been on the pill for a while. On the other hand I have heard lots of cases of women getting pregnant on the pill. So, I think it depends on your system and body. Good luck. Don't stress you are probably in the clear, in case, get a test as soon as your period is due.

Well, firstly, the directions say if u miss more than 3 pills, you have the possibility of becoming pregnant... mind you that's for Ortho Tricyclin (I'm on it). If you're truly worried about it, I suggest getting a pregnancy test, and taking it as soon as the directions say you can. Take a few in fact. False negatives are common. If they all say negative, you still miss your period, and you're still worried, call your doctor, and schedule an appointment.

Yes it is possible. If you will look on the packet they give you with your pills, somewhere it will say that they are not 100% safe. I know it is not because I was taking that too and along came my daughter. Who is now six weeks old. You should take a pregnancy test. Try first response it is supposed to be able to tell you five days before your missed period.

Anything is possible. I have missed pills and took them late and still not been pregnant. Your mind makes you worry and you start having symptoms that are not really there. It is summer and it is HOT so that can make you feel tired and thirsty.
