if you're old enough to have a baby, you're old enough to raise it, look at other cultures around the world.

I say at 13 14, you are NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OLD ENOUGH to have a baby. Physically you can, but I think that along with all vaccination requirements you need to get into high school, they should also make all girls get on the pill or get the birth control shot (unless they have a medical reason not to - like some kind of blood pressure problem or something in their family). If you don't have the right to vote, drink, marry, work, etc. what makes anyone think you are mature enough to raise a child? That's ridiculous. I know some people make it work, but I think most people and society would benefit from people waiting to have children until at least after high school.

Biologically, you can have have a baby at 13. In many cultures, some today but even more prevalent years ago, girls would marry at 12-13 years of age. But they wouldnt marry other 12-13 year old boys. Instead their fathers would "sell" them to the highest bidder- usually a rich older dude who liked little girls.
Don't know why we were created that way, but my guess is so that we could populate the Earth at a faster rate. Survival of the species.
But your point, I think, is a stupid one. Yes, you can physically have a baby at 13, just like you can physically smoke dope, drink, or do drugs at 13. So what? Being able to perform the action doesn't mean it's OK or right to do it.
You can also shoot yourself in the head with a gun at 13, but would you?
Having a baby at 13 would be just another way to murder your childhood and ruin you life.
Thoughts and logic like yours are reasons why we don't allow kids to make these kinds of decisions.
Grow up, and then make those decisions when you're on your own and not living off your parents.

Did you have any history classes in school? The laws that keep minors from working are because many people used to use their children as a slave labor force and had them working 12-14 hour days 6 days a week and the child did not get any of the pay. Most laws for children are there because someone used children in bad ways for their own benefit. If you think that it's all that great to have to work for all you have, get high and smoke cigarettes, you probably will find a way anyway. Just because you're biologically able to reproduce, though, does not mean that you should.

I think your reasoning is flawed. Just because a girl can get pregnant at 13, and a boy can get a girl pregnant, it doesn't make them an adult.
If your question is "Why can't kids buy cigarettes and beer?" Then the answer is because they are kids. Their bodies and brains are still growing, and tobacco and alcohol will damage them. And to be honest, kids are all kind of brain damaged anyway, until they are about 25 or older.
OK, the best thing to do is to try NOT to have a baby until you are mentally, physically and financially ready to care for one. Other cultures have much lower teen pregnancy rates in developed countries than the US.

having a baby and being a parent are two things that are worlds apart. Squeezing the eight pound screaming human out of your loins is the easy part. You then are required to supply this child immediately with medical care, warmth, food, clothing, shelter, and above all, LOVE. At this point you should realize that working, drinking, smoking, learning english or any other thing you can think of take a back seat to the task at hand. RAISING YOUR CHILD!!!!
You now have the privilege of being the most important teacher and provider in that childs life. You are in charge of his physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Believe me, being a parent doesn't require you to be able to drink, smoke, do drugs, or have superior intelligence or know english, but it does mean that you need to be a grown-up.

Oh my... "even if you don't know English..." wow... there's a definer for intelligence.

13 and 14 year olds are children pretending to be adults. If you can't do your own laundry, then you probably shouldn't be doing all those other exciting things... like working like a frickin' drudge from 9 to 5, and self-medicating. Instead of going to school to learn all kinds of interesting things and having lots of time to play.

Is this a statement? Children who are 13 and 14 are old enough to keep their rooms clean, help around the house, learn to do their own laundry, help put dinner on the table. Nothing more intricate than that.

Obviously you have no idea how to be the head of a family, It seems you know how to do everything else except to be an adult. Until you are 18, you are still physically developing including your brain. Just because you are biological able, does not mean you are emotional or economically ready.

But you knew all that.
