Hey, I just was wondering this morning that since everything in math had an oppisite, plus and minus, matter and anti-matter, well could there or is there an anti-universe?

It is possible. One of the funny things about quantum physics is that virtual particles pop into and out of existence all the time. Empty space has been found to have a base level of energy to it (just press the "I believe" button on this one... the math is way over my head to explain), and out of this field of energy, pairs of particles (matter and antimatter) can spontaneously form. Most of the time, they are so close together than their opposite charges and gravitational pull are enough to almost instantaneously cause them to collide and annihilate each other in a flash of light. Every now and then, however, two particles go zinging off in opposite directions. There are a few physicists who have calculated that the amount of energy for a virtual universe pair to pop into existence and go zinging off is actually not astronomically much larger than that for a subatomic particle -- since it all has to do balancing the energy equation, and not necessarily the magnitude. So the theory goes that somewhere -- again, don't ask me where -- there is an entire universe made primarily of antimatter (with probably an equivalent mix of dark matter, since it doesn't seem to have the properties of either regular or anti-matter... but that's another discussion topic)

Actually you are correct. Scientists have recently discovered the anti-universe. I think it is still in developmental stages of study but I believe they have discovered an additional 5 dimensions to space. I'm sure you could find something about it on the internet but I'm too lazy to waste my time doing that. Good luck.

yea....there are theories that suggest there being an anti universe....composed of anti matter......i think they say it was formed along with the universe during the big bang

It'd be really cool if there is one. Just thinking of all the possibilities that it presents is pretty amazing. Sorta reminds me of the plots of some of the really old Superman comix.
