Hopefully,there is no kids involved within this relationship you have,but even if there are not,it will never get any better,because know one can change another.That person has to want to change himself,and by the sounds of it,he isn't ready at this time,even if you left and he promised to quit,he would not be only lying to you,but to himself.I know i was involved 14 yrs with the same issue and the regret i have is not leaving sooner.You don't need it,you don't deserve it,and you shouldn't have to tolerate it.Move on and find happiness!Good Luck to you!

First try to get them some help.If that does not work get out,because he or she is not in there right mind and may do something stupid like hurt you.
