If you had your choice of freezing in some cold weather and dealing with the winter or would you rather stay in the scorching summer heat which would you choose? Me personally, I'd rather be hot than cold. I can't stand being cold! I have poor circulation for one thing and when the winter hits my hands feel the pain literally! My hands get to throbbing bad and turn red, close to frostbite feeling sometimes. I'd rather be hot than cold. Hot or cold for all of you?

In my younger days I would rather be cold than hot, and depends now on how my allergies are. It also depends on if it is a dry or humid cold. Humid cold is more harsh. I think if it was a dry cold I would rather be in the cold than the hot, that is if I was not on vacation, because you I can always put enough clothes on, but not take enough off. And I can always drink some booze for circulation problems.
But yes, the cold can suck, especially when you live in an area that fluctuates in the winter. If it's gonna get cold, at least stay cold so your body can adjust to this change and stay there for awhile. This also creates personal habits if it stays cold, or even hot.

Cold because you can always add more layers of clothing to warm you up. When its hot there's only so much you can take off, and then you're left dealing with the scorching heat!

Rather be cold. You can always put on more clothes or turn up the heat. When too hot, there's a limit. After you've stripped down, where do you go?

I'm in the Army and have been to Iraq and in the cold in Bosnia too. I'd rather be cold - at least you can put more layers on in the cold. You can't do much in 120 degree temperatures!

I would rather be hot, I'm a fool for summer. I'd rather be half naked, than bundled up in forty layers of clothes.
Now if you're talking about pure survival and which would I choose, than winter of course. You can only take off so much to cool off. I believe there are more ways of heating up, then cooling off.

I would rather be too cold.
You can always pile more clothing or blankets on or around you to get warmer.
But when you start taking things off to cool down, there is only just so much to take off, and invariably you're still going to be too warm.
Piling more on helps, taking more off doesn't. So, given a choice, I will choose the one that at least offers a little bit of hope.
