I HAVE DONE THAT BUT AS I FOUND OUT LATER YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO IT. TREATED LUMBER IS NOT FOR PAINTING. I CANNOT REMEMBER THE REASON BUT I REMEMBER IT SHOULD NOT BE DONE AND I AGREED WITH IT.

I see people do that all the time. Its a waste of money. Termites are usually taken care of and treated way before they make that high to the facia board... Also, treated lumber won't prevent dry rot... The facia board on my house has been there 50 some odd years and guess what - NO PROBLEMS

you could use it but , not good , when you paint it you have to use an oil base primer three coats to keep latex on it other wise it will just peel off in four five months, OIL base paint if you are trying to replace facia boards only once , they last a long time is kept painted do it right looks better

if you are going to use aluminum coil metal, you cannot use treated lumber. there is something in the treated wood now that will "eat" aluminum and even regular nails. we have to use hot dipped galvanized framing nails at work.

don't do it. treated lumber will shrink and bow. use clear pine and use a quality primer and paint. it'll last longer and stay straight.
