No, the ACLU supports free speech by all, including totally anti-liberal groups, like Nazis.

Manger scenes are fine, except by the Government, which is an Establishment Clause issue, not a speech issue. Same if the Government displayed a crucifix in piss.

Citizens can have both manger scenes and crucifixes in piss. Free speech and religion for all citizens.

I'm not sure if this answers your question but wanted you to know that some of us liberals really do respect others rights just as much as our own. I can handle a manger scene. I respect your right to believe and say what you want just as much as I'd want you to respect my beliefs. For me exchanging ideas is important even if I don't believe in what someone is saying, hearing an exchange of ideas and thoughts is the journey and who knows, it might change my thoughts or perceptions of someone. And while I don't put out a manger scene in December I wouldn't want to stop anyone from doing so for their own self.

We don't, or at least I don't. And a manger scene doesn't violate my free speech. Although it shouldn't be in a governmental property or otherwise government run building. Sepation of church and state is very important.

Like it or not, everyone gets their say and their freedom.

Start to say what is not "ok" or what is "too indecent to allow" or "subversive" and you walk that slippery slope back to the McCarthy witchhunts of the 50's.

At the start of the Iraq war, when a few people were brave enough to speak against the Iraq war and suffered for it, I believed that the US was sliding down that slippery slope. We have to be OK with whatever is said, no matter how we dislike it.

We are ALWAYS free to rebut!

I don't think what you describe has anything to do with anyone being liberal politically.
