White is a color, if you've ever looked through a prism and saw the reflection the fell on the wall you would see the primary colors of red, yellow, green, and blue...so it is not only a single color it is a combination of a few.

We see color because of reflection . So, therefore if you see white you are seeing a reflection off of another color giving the white an OFF white appearance. There are all sorts of shades of white. There can be no TRUE or Pure white because it is reflecting off of another color.
