Taiwan is an independent country. The US recognizes this, and has a defense pact with them. So do most other countries. The issue is that China doesn't recognize their independence. As long as Taiwan wants to be independent, I think the international community will support them. I certainly hope and doubt that it will never come to blows, but Taiwan will have massive support if it ever does.

i live there, so for the most part it is independent, just some political non-sense, that people go crazy about. Its a very complicated issue. But its a great place to live, and i love the food.

well......tw is definitely an independent country.....but i guess thats not the main issue right now.....the main problem tw is facing now....how to stop china swallow tw economically.....sure its a tough road a head...but if tw dont react sooner.....tw will suffer more later.......
