One of the first to give money to tsunami victims, to stand up and fight against terrorism after 911 and first to take a militant stance against Korea's attempted attack on America. Very people oriented for a nation that does not have progressive immigration laws.

Because they are in harms way just as much as South Korea is, and they know it. The Japanese are assuring themselves protection from the United States if something should go horribly wrong over there. Either that or they're up to something and trying to get brownie points before they get exposed. But most likely the first scenerio.

It is probably a very adult and sensible response to the guilt they feel for all the attrocities they committed in WWII.

They are also tyhe only ones to know first hand the feeling of getting nuked.

All power to their elbow they are showing a great example to the world.

I think because their economy depends on how we do. We buy a lot of their cars and technology. If our economy falls just a little bit, then they are in big trouble.
