well that depends on that they are being closed minded about, not everyone is the same and does not think the same every one must make up their own minds to determine what they should be opened to and closed to. its called making choices, not everyone is supposed to be the same, and it doesn't always have to do with the way they were raised. its just something we do we are only human and we were made that way. that is why we are unique and different from everyone else. i wouldn't want to think the same way about everything everyone else does then we would live in a real boring society.

A person becomes closed minded when they have fully made up their mind and dont care what others say.It comes from pride.

Maybe it's just the way they were raised. Maybe they were made close minded instead of becoming.

They may think that if they think outside the box, they are "betraying" their belief in some way? I suppose it depends on your willingness to listen to other people and their experiences. The thing that people seem to forget is that you don`t have to RELATE to something to understand that it means something to someone else. Make sense?
