I heard that Spanish is nothing but street Latin. so I don't think it could be all that hard. I understand that the study of Latin is on the rise as is Mandrin Chinese.
There is a little program called 31 Languages of the World that is for Windows and Mac. It has some really neat features; including voice print outs of your voice against a native speaker! I guess they dug up some old Roman to do the voice over.
Anyway check out http://www.transparent.com.
In a pinch learn the following phrases in Latin, dress in leather with a lot of metal, never smile, bathe only once a week.
ENGLISH; I came, I saw, I conquerd
LATIN: Veni, Vedi, Vechi ,< I'm sure this isn't right but
close enough for government work.
If you are not a tough guy, learn a few Dean Martin songs. The Italian will be recognized by Latin and Spanish speakers and your teacher or girl friend/boy friend will love you.
"Retorna_a me ,cara mia ti amo; solo tu, solo tu, solo tu, solo tu, mio cor." We need a little more love on this channel.
Finally, in the spam recently is a language company that claims to teach you any language in ten days. They say the CIA does it there way. It gives me pause, because the Intelligence the CIA has brought back since forever seems to loose something in translation.
Nevertheless type a search for (language/learn/ten days). There is a lot of free stuff on those pages. Good luck.

You cant speak latin FAST
Latin is way more complicated than spanish or french, even more complicated than german.
If you start learning latin it takes you about 2 years to be able to translate Caesar.
But even then you will have trouble speaking it. They dont teach that.

Why do you need to know? I used to take Latin, and still remember a lot. And you're not gonna learn it fast, no matter what you do.

Latin is NOT a spoken language. Latin is a dead language, it's plain enough to see. It killed off all the Romans, and now it's killing me!

OK. I'll teach you to speak it fast. But you won't be able to understand what you're saying or what is being said. But I promise, if you're a quick learner, You'll be speaking it so fast that you'll bite your tongue.
