The best thing for sunburn is aloe vera. Go to the store and you should find it near the sunscreen. Make sure you get the plain gel. Any kind of lotion or oil won't let your skin breathe. It will hold in the heat and make it worse. Stay cool. If you sweat, it could cause water blisters. Dabbing on some vinegar will also help. Take Alleve for the pain. If your legs are burned, elevate them to help ease the pain. Since the skin is damaged, you can't prevent peeling. Anything you put on it will just disguise the peeling. Once you move from the hurting stage to the itching stage, use lots of lotion or baby oil. I wouldn't try to cover it up on your face. Makeup will just irritate it worse. Good luck! Been there, done that, too many times to count!

If symptoms of severe sunburn are present, the victim should receive professional medical help. While awaiting treatment, he or she should not drink cold water, which can trigger chills. If compresses are applied, they should be dipped in cool or tepid water, not cold water.

If the symptoms of sunburn are mild or moderate, the victim should drink plenty of water to replenish lost fluids. He or she may then do any or all of the following:

Apply dampened cloths or compresses to reduce the heat and lessen the pain;
Soak in a bathtub of plain soap-free water (Soap can irritate the burn);
Gently pat the skin dry afterward - do not rub it;
Apply a soothing cream, lotion or another preparation approved by a physician or pharmacist;
Note that some preparations, in particular those containing benzocaine, can trigger an allergic reaction;
Note too, that certain ointments can retard healing by sealing off the skin from the air.
If blistering occurs, apply a bandage to prevent infection; and
If the discomfort warrants, take a painkiller such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

all the answers are right and good but there is also a vitamin e pill you can break open and put on it , it is good for skin and spots, and burns of all sorts, you use aloe theres a 100% out there that is realy good as well, make sure you dont have blisters if so can mean more burn and need to go to doctor dependin on the degree, if theres hot spots on skin use a cool damp rag, it will help with the pain and heat, my husband works construction and gets perty bad at the first of the season, this works really well for him and dont worry your skin will be fine after burn goes away and if you peel just dont pick were it peels too deep, you wont have scars and the tan will show after heal, good luck!

Well, if your sunburn is blistering, you should get medical help. You probably won't be able to keep it from peeling if it's a bad burn. There are some after sun products that can soothe your skin. Look for something that has aloe. If you keep it in the referigerator it will feel even better going on. Be sure to wear sunscreen from now on.

It will go back to the same shade but you may have spots depending on your age.
Lotion alot to prevent peeling.
Soak a piece of bed sheet in cold water mixed with vinegar or you can use 100% aloe.
Cover up the burn with a heavy cream followed by foundation.
USE SUNSCREEN NEXT TIME and always use it on the face. Some foundations have it in it.

Oh, girl sunblock, sunblock and sunblock. You can seriously damage your skin and sometimes sunburn can leave discoloration. Make sure you use lots of moisturizers, aloe vera gel will help cool down your hot skin. You can't prevent piling, your skin is burned and it will come off. Try not to use any cover ups, it will only make you look worst. Try very inexpensive Nivea Cream, it will help your dry skin. If you want to have faster results, one of my secrets is to spread sour cream all over your burned areas. It is cooling and great source of grease much needed now. Hey, keep it on for 15-20 minutes and wash it off gently in warm water.

Your skin will peel - can't help it, only thing you can do is keep it moisturized. Your skin will eventually go back to it's normal color and the ways to treat sunburn are aloe vera gel, aloe vera moisturizer, and/or any type of moisturizer that would be for sensitive skin.

It depends on how badly you are burned if your skin will go back to the color before. To help to keep from peeling, keep your skin moisturized. I use Noxzema it feel good and condition the skin.
Be careful when our in the sun. use a good tan lotion.

keep using moisturizers. It is hard to prevent peeling if suburn is bad. Sometimes, it is best to just let it peel. Now is not the time to think about covering your face. You should *always* wear at least SPF 15 on your face daily.

OK I'M GOING TO BE A DERMATOLOGIST, I'LL ANSWER THIS. Rub it with Aloe Vera twice a day, put your skin up to a tomato and if your skin is closely that color then don't go outside and tan again until it's gone. If you get itchiness, rashes, or anything else rub it with cream, if that doesn't work go see a doctor or dermatologist.
