I'm going through it now in Georgia. Uncontested divorces can be fairly cheap. I think it costs about $180 to actually file here. I still would seek legal advice (maybe just a consutation) because you need to look out for your best interests. A little cost now can be worth it in the long run. A consultation here is $100-$200 for 1 hr. Try your best to have it remain uncontested so you won't be paying the lawyers big bucks. After the papers are signed, 31 days later you are free.

Well, obviously you got married way too young. I just hope you two handle this divorce in a very mature manner. The best thing to do is get a free consultation from a lawyer before you go ahead with anything. That will not cost you a thing, and you'll get an idea as to what you should do.

most states have an agency that refers legal help. check the phone book or check with the county social services dept. if there is some type of abuse involved, they would help with getting things started. good luck.

with a minor child you have to wait at least six months up to a year..if he doesn't fight for custody it shouldn't be that expensive but you will pay more due to the child

Contact an attorney and explain your situation to him/her. If they can not help you, I'm sure they will recommend someone who can.
Sorry to hear about the break-up of your marriage....
