They think that Fox News is a republican broadcast network. O'Reilly says that his audience is more Democrats then Republicans. Not to mention how the hire people like Wesley Clark. They also constantly have on Democrats like Bob Beckel and Susan what's her name (name escapes me). But some people just let moveon.org tell them what to think about Fox News instead of watching it themselves and making up their own minds.

Because corporately Fox News is a mouthpiece for the Republican party. Proper, unbiased journalism is becoming more and more a thing of the past. But Fox, doesn't even seem to pretend to try anymore.
But I don't assume you're a Republican. You are either a Republican or a smart Democrat or independent who wants to see what the other side is saying so you can do your own research and come to an educated conclusion on your own.
Case in point: Bill O'Reilly once insisted that "W"s employment rate at a particular moment in his presidency was higher than Bill Clinton's at that same point in his presidency. I forget what the percentage was at the time. He insisted that at the same time in Clinton's presidency, the employment percentage was lower. Then he blew a big deal over how great Bush was because of that. What he didn't mention....if you chart the percentages...was that Bush's percentage was one point on a downward curve and Clinton's had been on an upward path. But they don't tell you that. Just one example.
I'll hope you're one of the people who believes it's best to keep an eye on idiots so you know what they're up to! Personally, I sometimes watch Fox (with gritted teeth), MSNBC, CNN and listen to Air America. This way I get both extremes and some stuff in the middle.

Fox news and the owners of Fox in general have close affiliation with the republican party. They have in general in there reporting been kinder to republican interests than that of the other major news networks therefore to watch Fox news means that you are subject to the partial political information presented by them. So in viewing there telecast you are in fact supporting the republican party by boosting there ratings insuring further advertising dollars gained by the network that is why people assume you are a republican for watching Fox news

Well, the assumption would be based on
not knowing your motives or reason for watchin Fox.
Most people who feel Fox is conservative stattion do so based on the world view and commentartors world view, the choice of guest, the way the guest are treated, the questions posed to the guest......all reflect an advocacy of specific world view more than any other station.
In Britian Fox news could not be offered because of the laws that state that the news must be accurate.....

I do not know why. People all over the world watch Fox News. Some Democrats watch to have something to gripe about. Some Democrats actually agree with them, or feel they try to be fair with the audience, which the other News Networks can not say.

If you watch Fox, it makes you an optimist, if one watches the other news they are pessimists. All liberal democrats are pessimists, or believe in 'gloom & doom', they assume you must be a Republican because you're smarter than they and not worried the world is coming to an end tomorrow.

Fox has a definate republican slant. Hannity pretty much campaigns for the republicans when he is on. But besides that I like the way they give the news. O'reily goes off the deep end sometimes but over all it is rather un-biased. It is definatly right leaning though.

Mainly because FOX reports, you decide. Liberal Democrats are used to being told how to think about something, whether it's credible or not. But the truth is, Republicans don't have the corner on people who use their minds. (In fact, they have some Liberals who have the same problem as Liberal Democrats).

Mainly because Fox News is a conservative news network. CNN tends to be more liberal...and is being a republican a bad thing?
