All the resources we can strip from it are good. The planets inability to keep up with us is poor!!

This planet is very unique in many ways, a unique collision gave us our moon to stabilize our rotation, our tilt gives us seasons, the Geo-reactor at our core has enough fissionable material to keep our magnetosphere protection us from dangerous radiation. The mass of the planet is enough to keep a thick atmosphere, the rotation is fast enough to keep us from freezing or frying.

Add to that all the work that life has done to make it a great place to live and you would be hard pressed to find a better natural biosphere in any imagined 'other world'.

What is not great about it? Well there are periodic volcanic eruptions that wipe out the larger life forms, earthquakes, collapses' and ice ages. All these mean that great as it is we need a more stable human friendly long term environment to insure indefinite survival.
