I have a blue handkerchief hanging from the rearview mirror on my car. I just bought it because I liked it. I am not associated with any gang, however, I have seen some people staring at me when I'm driving, giving me dirty looks. My friend said it might be because people think I'm trying to represent a gang. Should I take it down? Any opinions or info on this?

If all you are getting are dirty looks, then I would ignore them and go with what you believe to be something nice to decorate your automobile. Frankly, if people have a problem with it, it's really their problem to have, so don't let it become yours as well. However, if you are feeling self-conscious about it, then removing it my be a good idea, but perhaps you could use this opportunity as a means of exerting your individuality.

Just to be safe, I'd take it down. Even though you don't mean it as a gang symbol, it could be misinterpreted.
