I've read about ecstatic dance before but never been a part of it, however, I found this online. Hope it is helpful.
Over 35 years ago, a young teacher at the Esalen Institute began experimenting with an ancient body-based spiritual practice all but forgotten in our time: ecstatic dance.
Today that teacher, Gabrielle Roth, is acclaimed worldwide for her pioneering work with The Wave, a sequence of improvised movements to five rhythm patterns that the New York Post has called a "map for the entire creative process."
On Gabrielle Roth Ecstatic Dance Collection, viewers join Gabrielle for three complete dance workouts, each with its own special benefits:
puts the psyche in motion and helps trigger spontaneous states of creative, intuitive power
The Wave The original classic on video introduces Gabrielle Roth's revolutionary system of moving meditation. Teaches how five core rhythms can teach, catalyze, and heal our entire being.
Also if you want to know a bit more about ecstatic experience, you might want to see what Allen Holmquist has to say about it. Section 2 pp118-128

Not a map with dots and lines and directions. This is a map that takes a lifetime to unfold, read and understand.
You have unfolded the first fold, you understand that with thought and awareness, your map will be revealed to you, over time.
Be sensitive to your nature; to what you like and dislike, to what lifts you up and what lowers you down, to what makes you smile and what makes you frown.
In this way you will be revealed to yourself and your "map" will point the way.
Best of luck in your journey!

We do have a map within us all its called DNA. Passed on from generation to generation.
It is the the genetic blue print within us that tells the organelles within us how to make stuff, when to make it, and when to use it.
It is amazing how creatures that size, can work together and and maintain a giant organism such as ourselves. But we have to remember that they don't do it by themselves, they do it collectively working together.

are we creative? do we have free will? or are we all determined by "cause and effect"? is "cause and effect" an illusion or is freedom of choice an illusion?
my point is...your question is misdirected and has been fine-tuned by many philosophers.
I recommend reading Corliss Lamont's "Freedom of the Will and Human Responsibility" and Baron d'Holbach's "We are completely Determined"
then there's "Compatibalism" by W. T. Stace. and "Fate" by Richard Taylor

Yes and some are more detailed than others. You would probably want a "lefty's" cuz they rock! but take it in cosideration with your own. You wouldn't wat to get lost.
